Religious Freedom

Art. 25

Freedom of conscience and free profession, practice and propagation of religion

You are free to follow any religion, practise it, and even share it with others. But the government can regulate non-religious activities (like economic or social practices) associated with religion, and can open Hindu temples to all classes of Hindus. This right is subject to public order, morality, and health.

Art. 26

Freedom to manage religious affairs

Every religious group can manage its own religious affairs, set up institutions for charity and religion, own property, and manage that property according to law. The government can regulate the financial and administrative side, but cannot interfere with purely religious matters.

Art. 27

Freedom as to payment of taxes for promotion of any particular religion

The government cannot force you to pay taxes that go towards promoting or maintaining any specific religion. Your tax money must stay neutral.

Art. 28

Freedom as to attendance at religious instruction or religious worship in certain educational institutions

In fully government-funded schools, no religious instruction can be given. In schools that receive some government aid or are recognized by the government, you can't be forced to attend religious classes or worship if you (or your parent/guardian) don't want to.
